1. revise的基本意思是“订正”“修订”。指“订正”时,即对原稿或校样的修改; 指“修订”时,即对已出版的书籍进行修改以再版。revise引申可指“复习”。
2. revise既可用作不及物动词,也可用作及物动词。用作及物动词时,可接名词、代词作宾语。可用于被动结构。
3. revise接介词for表示“为…而复习”; 接from表示“根据…修订而成”。

1. revise the lesson有“温课'的意思，在英国使用不普遍，常用go over the lesson来代替。而美国人喜欢用review the lesson；
2. revise解释为“修正”或者“校订”。若是把书的第一版“修正”了，出版第二版，那受revise的动作就是第一版。另外revised edition指第二版，不是第一版；
3. 短语revised from意思为“根据……修订而成”。
